This article describes how to do
telemarketing. Telemarketing is any marketing activity
conducted by telephone and by specially trained telemarketing
personnel.
Following Tips are useful in doing
a successful telemarketing. |
1. Always do business with only those
companies that you trust and know. If you are unfamiliar
with the company, ask the company to provide you the information
about its product and services. A good and legitimate
company would always feel happy to provide you the information
whereas a fraudulent company won’t provide you the
information.
2. When making a call, you have just a few seconds to
prepare yourself for the conversation. Careful preparation
would always increase chances of good conversation with
the prospect.
3. Be sincere, because most of the people can sense the
insincerity even though they are not watching your facial
expressions, hand movements or any other non verbal communication.
4. Always be professional and keep it
in mind that you are a sales professional who primarily
rely on telephone for sales.
5. Dress like professional, although you are watched by
the prospect and keep a mirror in front of you to see
how you are smiling during conversation.
6. Check the company which you are dealing with, is licensed
or registered or check the complaint record whether there
are complaints against this company or not.

7. Don’t give your credit
card numbers, account numbers, national tax numbers,
social security numbers or any other personal information
unless you know that the company is legitimate and
the information is necessary for the transaction.
8. Keep track of your success rate. It will be help
you to identify any weakness and to correct any
wrong strategy.
9. Try to call your prospects in those hours when
they are available. Experience would tell you which
time is the best to call a prospect.
10. Try to become a quick learner. Learn from your
past experience, how to deal with the current problem.
For example if you have encountered the same objection
from the prospect of the buying the product as in
the past, you should be well prepared to handle
this kind of situation.
11. Write a script for the call by keeping in mind
all the telemarketing tips. Even if you vary from
the script a bit, your words and phrases should
remain consistent.
12. To support your telephonic sales use other communication
tools like fax machine, cellular phones, email etc.
Provide your prospect a product information sheet
by email or fax.
13. When you seem that the prospect is not willing
to buy your product or the prospect does not qualify
to buy your product, end the call quickly but politely
because your time on the call is precious.
14. Try to focus your conversation with the prospects
on what they need and what they want. Do not try
to convince your prospect to buy your services or
products. Ask the prospects questions regarding
what they need and then suggest the best product
for them
