Disable Network Scheduler Task.
Applying this tip, you will be able to disable the scheduled tasks search for the networked computers.
Go to Start > Run > Regedit and search for the following value.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion > Explorer > RemoteComputer > NameSpace
After finding it just delete the following value.
{D6277990-4C6A-11CF-8D87-00AA0060F5BF}
This method will turn off the scheduled tasks before browsing and speed up the network browsing speed dramatically.
Delete Unused Network Mapped drives and Shared folders.
Another method to speed up the network browsing speed is to delete the unused network shared folders, mapped drives and network shortcuts. This is very helpful in avoiding the network delays. In Windows XP Professional you can do it by the following method.
Start > Run > Type GPEDIT.MSC
Group policy editor will open
Go to User configurations > Administration > Templates > Desktop
In the right panel enable this option “Do not add shares of recently opened documents to my Network places”.
